1. Name : Rob Harris

2. Age : 42

3. Occupation : Engineer

4. How long have you been at CrossFit 399?

About 6 months. Did the On-Ramp in September and after October break have been steady since November 2015.

5. What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit?

Mostly outside of CrossFit I work and enjoy vacations with my kids and watching them at swim meets. For fitness besides CrossFit, I also join a bootcamp in KLCC with an awesome group and dabble in biking and running with some friends that are training for half marathon and triathlons.

6. What is your favourite and least favourite movements or WODs?

I enjoy learning about Olympic lifts. It is very new to me and the mix of explosiveness, technique and strength is totally new to me. I find pull-ups and similar bodyweight exercises my least favourite thing to see in a workout. Something to work on.

7. What is your biggest achievement so far?

Biggest is tough. Being only six months and having learned new things and progressing across the board makes it tough to pick one. I am happy that I did the last two workouts of the 2016 CrossFit Open at prescribed weights. I was thinking originally that I would have to do it all scaled.

8. What are your future goals?

I'd like to be able to do the CrossFit Open at RX next year. Need to get the kipping and skipping down to do it.

9. Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey?

Give it a try and give it some time. I had no idea how accessible it was until I tried. I would advise people to get a feel for the schedule to see how you can use it as a part of your other fitness activities, until you become obsessed with CrossFit of course!

10. Tell us something we don't know about you.

I used to swim. And only swim. I hated weight training and dry land training my whole swimming career. I swam some Masters swimming since college but I was pretty out of shape 2 years ago when I started some personal training, bootcamp and biking to get back in shape. And now I am addicted to CrossFit and Bootcamp style workouts. Totally unexpected. I wish I could have made the change while I was competing. It would have been great to be this strong in the water.

11. Who's your box buddy?

I enjoying seeing everyone walk into the gym. Everyone brings something to the classes and helps me as I see their consistency, encouragement, excitement, tips, tricks and spirit. It keeps me going and I really enjoy seeing everyone else doing new things, hitting new records. We have a great group.
